"What writing a new book on B2B research taught me about our
changing world" - Ruth McNeil
Ruth McNeil, author of Business To Business Market Research, the first B2B research handbook to be published in well over a decade, will lead this first webinar in our series. Ruth is the head of Response Consulting, a B2B research consultancy in the U.K., and is an active member of BIG (Business Industrial Group) and has spoken at the BIG annual conference.
Ruth's presentation will be divided into three main areas:
- She will introduce herself and say a few words about the state of
B2B research in the U.K. and the activities and mandate of BIG - "There
is no equivalent that we know to BIG and the BIG conference anywhere in
the world that we know of - even in the USA".
- Secondly, Ruth will discuss the "real world" conditions
that prompted her to write a new B2B research handbook:
- What her book should mean for B2B researchers.
- What has changed since the last B2B research book was published
- a through analysis of changes that have occurred in the past 15 years.
- What is the current situation in B2B research - what is
"HOT" and what is "NOT".
- What are some of the REAL problems when assessing the size
of the B2B market.
- What are some of the NEW channels for approaching B2B respondents
- and why this is important.
- What about the new composition of B2B markets - and new
business areas.
- The "agonies" and "ecstasies" of writing
this book and what she learned
- Finally - Ruth will cover some of the major areas of her book
and focus specifically on what makes B2B research different from B2C research:
- The B2B qualitative research process.
- The B2B quantitative research process.
- The top B2B research trends - and an overview of some of
the key issues and areas covered in her book.
