Marketing Research and Intelligence Association (MRIA) BC Announces Winners of 2009 Student Marketing Research Competition
Vancouver, BC Canada – March 10, 2010 – MRIA BC is pleased to announce the winners of the 2009 Student Marketing Research Competition, designed to fuel in-depth marketing, advertising, social, and political research. Three prizes were awarded: First place: $1000 cash, Second place: $500, and Third place: $200.
The 2009 Student Marketing Research Competition Award Winners are as follows:

“I was so excited when I found out I won the award. Receiving this award gave me confidence in my research skills and encouraged me to pursue my career in the tourism industry” said Yumiko Suzuki, Thompson Rivers University Student. “I am grateful to the MRIA for this recognition as well as my instructor, Dr. Robert Hood, for all the support he has provided me with.”
Dr. Robert Hood, Thomas Rivers University Professor said “Yumiko's success confirms to me the value of our applied approach to education at TRU. I trust this winning paper will inspire future students to participate in future competitions. Thank-you Yumiko for your great work, and thank-you MRIA for creating this competition to motivate and challenge our future researchers.”

About MRIA Student Marketing Research Competition
The annual MRIA student marketing research contest is open to students enrolled in undergraduate full-time or part-time studies at an accredited British Columbia College or University. Students submit their final project along with a statement describing the intended audience. Projects must include either a quantitative or qualitative research component, and reports must be based on actual research rather than hypothetical data.
