Terms and Conditions
Onsite Registration
The last day to pre-register for the Conference is May 28 at Noon. After that, registrations will only be accepted onsite. You may collect your badge and registration materials at the MRIA Registration Desk located on the Upper Level of at the Westin Harbour Castle Conference Centre in Toronto. Materials may not be picked up for another person.

Badges
Your MRIA 2010 Conference badge must be worn for admittance to all keynotes, concurrent sessions and non-ticketed events.
Early Bird Deadline
To qualify for discounted early bird rates, your registration must be processed and payment must be received by the MRIA office on or before April 30, 2010.
Registration Categories
Full Conference
This registration includes all plenary and concurrent sessions, breakfasts, lunches, refreshment breaks, and one ticket for the Welcome Reception, the Golden Gala and the Summer’s Edge Party.
1 Day Registration
This registration includes all plenary and concurrent sessions, breakfast, lunch and refreshment breaks for the day selected. One ticket for the Welcome Reception is included with the Monday pass. However, tickets the Golden Gala Dinner and the Summer’s Edge Party are not included with the 1 day passes and could be purchased separately.
Student Rates
Students must be either MRIA student members or they must provide proof of full-time enrollment in a post-secondary institution to receive student rates. This registration includes all plenary and concurrent sessions, breakfasts, lunches and refreshment breaks and one ticket for the Welcome Reception. However, tickets for the Golden Gala Dinner and the Summer’s Edge Party are not included with the student passes and could be purchased separately.
Registration Confirmation
Processing of Registrations
Upon your online registration, you will receive an immediate confirmation of your registration as soon your payment is processed. Payments by credit card are processed through MRIA's Office - as such your credit card statement will reflect a charge from MRIA. Please note: Your registration will not be confirmed until your payment has been received by MRIA. Cheques must be made payable to MRIA and be mailed to the following address: MRIA/ARIM Att: Conference Registration Department, 2600 Skymark Avenue, Building 4, Unit 104, Mississauga, ON, L4W 5B2.
Substitutions
If you are unable to attend the Conference after registering, you may send someone in your place by submitting the substitute person's name and contact information in writing to MRIA 2010 Conference before May 28, 2010 at Noon. Fax (905-602-6855) and e-mail (events@mria-arim.ca) requests will be honored.
Cancellation Policy
A 50% refund of your paid registration will be granted for written cancellations received before May 28, 2010 at Noon. No refunds or credits will be granted to cancellations received after May 28 at Noon or for no-shows. All requests must be made in writing. Fax (905-602-6855) and e-mail requests (events@mria-arim.ca) will be honored. MRIA will process all refunds/credits after the Conference. No exceptions will be made.
Privacy Protection
The MRIA 2010 Conference recognizes the importance of privacy and the sensitivity of personal information. As researchers and marketers, we have an obligation to manage your information consistent with professional practice. This privacy policy outlines how we use your personal information and safeguard your privacy.
What personal information do we collect?
Personal information is any information that identifies you, or by which your identity could be deduced. We collect personal information directly from you when you register for MRIA 2010 Conference and will collect further personal information if you participate in Conference evaluation surveys.
Consent
By registering, you are consenting to
i. the collection and use of your personal information for the purposes of registering and attending the MRIA 2010 Conference, including related administrative requirements, as well as for receiving additional information including news and surveys about MRIA Conferences.
ii. the publication of your name, Corporate affiliation and city on the 2010 Conference website and Corporate affiliation in the printed program distributed at the MRIA 2010 Conference.
iii. the distribution of your electronic contact data to MRIA 2010 Conference sponsors.
If you do not wish to consent to the publication of your contact data as described in paragraphs ii and iii above, you must check the Privacy Policy field included on the registration form or advise MRIA in writing before May 28, 2010 at Noon. Fax (905-602-6855) and email requests (events@mria-arim.ca) will be honored.
By completing evaluation surveys, you are consenting to the collection and use of personal information for the purposes of administrative assessment of MRIA conferences.
Other than distribution for legitimate purposes as referenced in this section, MRIA 2010 Conference does not disclose your personal information to third parties.
Onsite Photography
A conference photographer will be onsite at MRIA 2010 Conference, and may take posed or candid shots of presenters, delegates and others during Conference-hosted events. These images may be posted on the MRIA 2010 Conference website, on the MRIA main national site, or published in VUE magazine. By registering for MRIA 2010 Conference, you are consenting to the use of photographs which become the property of MRIA for use in Association collateral.
Securing Personal Information
MRIA 2010 Conference will take all reasonable precautions to ensure that your personal information is kept safe from loss, unauthorized access, or disclosure, whether collected directly by the MRIA 2010 Conference administration or by third parties for evaluation purposes.
Terms and Conditions specific to the Optional Toronto Time Social Events offered on Tuesday, June 1, 2010
- The Optional Social Events offered on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 are organized by MRIA. Registration for any of these Optional Social Events can be processed until May 28, 2010 at Noon on the MRIA Portal, either at the time of your registration for the MRIA 2010 Conference or as stand-alone tickets (if so, please select in My Menu: Events & Publications). Your receipt sent by email by MRIA is also your official receipt for the optional social event you registered to. Please bring this receipt with you when you check-in for the activity as names of registered individuals will be checked off prior to departure.
- A tour desk will be set up at the MRIA Registration Desk, located on the Upper Level of the Westin Harbour Castle Convention Centre in Toronto, throughout the MRIA 2010 Conference for any late registration to the Optional Social Events. On-site registrations for the Optional Social Events will be accepted based on space availability and an additional $5 CAD will apply per person, per tour; on-site registrations will require a full payment by credit card.
- All activities require a minimum number of participants to operate. MRIA reserves the right to cancel tours for failure to meet minimum participation requirements. We strongly recommend that attendees register early to ensure availability. Waiting lists will be taken for sold out events and tours may be added if enough demand exists. Attendees will be notified of any changes to a tour’s status.
- MRIA reserves the right to cancel tours if the minimum participation requirement is not met. Should tours be cancelled by MRIA, participants will be notified by MRIA by email, up to one week prior to the tour date, and a refund will be issued for the full amount of the tour.
- All tours will operate rain or shine. Should inclement weather make it impossible to operate a tour as sold, MRIA reserves the right to make comparable substitutions as necessary. Cancellation of tours by tour operator will result in a complete refund.
- MRIA is not responsible for lost or damaged articles; accidents; any mishap due to alcohol or drug abuse; disasters; government regulation or advisory; death; injury; illness; fire; disruption; delays, modifications or cancellations caused by weather conditions; or any mechanical or electrical difficulties; strikes; lockouts; acts or threats of terrorism; civil disorder; acts of God; and other events beyond the control of MRIA. MRIA will make every effort to conduct the program as described, however, reserves the right to make adjustments to programs without affecting their overall quality. Should situations beyond the control of MRIA make changes necessary, we will work to address any such changes whenever possible; however, we are unable to issue refunds if inclement weather renders tour performance impossible or unsafe.

Dress Code
- For the Welcome Reception on Sunday, May 30, the dress code is casual.
- Conference session: the dress code is business casual.
- For the Golden Gala on Monday, May 31, the dress code is semi formal or retro cocktail.
- For the Summer’s Edge Party on Tuesday, June 1, the dress code is casual club wear.

The conference is being held at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel in downtown Toronto, ON.
The MRIA registration desk will be located on the Upper Level of at the Westin Harbour Castle Conference Centre in Toronto. Please refer to the Registration hours section above for days and hours of registration.
Changes to the Program or Social ActivitiesThe Conference organizers reserve the right to adjust or change the program and social activities as necessary.
