Writing that Gets Results
Course Category:
- Professional Development course
Instructor(s):
In the information age (and even long since before it) good writing and communication skills have been integral to business success.
This highly interactive and fast-paced one day workshop teaches participants clear ways to write effectively, so that their words work for them not against them. Myths regarding "good writing" are debunked, how to examine one's writing from the reader's point of view and understanding the needs of various audiences are also covered.
Students engage in both group and individual exercises, work through real business examples, refine techniques that apply to any form of writing- whether it be emails, reports, or presentations, and leave with an extensive workbook that includes summaries of concepts and recommended references for follow up.
Students will be required to bring a minimum of four pages of their own writing from either current or previous projects.
Major topics covered in this course include
- Why clear succinct writing is important to you and your organization
- Myths about effective writing/Reworking the myths into best practices
