INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP TYPES

Regular Member
To qualify for this membership type, an applicant shall be employed in or declare an interest in marketing, survey or public opinion research, market intelligence, social research, or information management.

Student
To qualify for this membership type, an applicant must be attending a post-secondary institution (university, college, or polytechnical school) on a full-time basis in Canada and declare an interest in marketing, survey or public opinion research, market intelligence, social research or information management. Student members must provide proof of full-time student status, as well as their school's name and expected year of graduation.

New Practitioner (NEW)
To qualify for this membership type, an applicant must reside in Canada and be a marketing research or market intelligence practitioner with less than two years of work experience in the industry. Applicant will be sent a New Practitioner Application Form to be completed, signed and submitted to MRIA for a confidential assessment. Eligibility is for a maximum of two years. Re-application is required for second year. For more information, contact MRIA at membership@mria-arim.ca.

Retired
To qualify for this membership type, an applicant must have retired from gainful employment.

Temporary Status
To qualify for this membership type, an applicant must reside in Canada and not be receiving income from employment due to one or more of the following temporary circumstances: prolonged medical leave; unemployment; or maternity/parental leave. The applicant will be sent a Temporary Status Application Form to detail the temporary circumstances being experienced. The application form must be completed, signed, and submitted to MRIA, for a completely confidential assessment. For more information, contact MRIA at membership@mria-arim.ca.

INDIVIDUAL DESIGNATIONS

Certified Marketing Research Professional (CMRP)
To attain this individual designation, an applicant must successfully meet the requirements to earn and maintain the Certified Marketing Research Professional (CMRP) designation. MRIA membership in-good-standing must be maintained in order to retain the right to use the CMRP designation.

Fellow
MRIA may honor individuals who have made distinguished contributions to marketing, survey or public opinion research, market intelligence, social research, or information management by electing them to Fellowship in the Association. The procedure and manner of doing so shall be established from time to time by the Board of Directors.
