Please note that if you hold the Asssociation’s coveted CMRP designation, that professional certification will also lapse, since MRIA membership in-good-standing must be maintained to retain the right to use the CMRP designation.

MRIA Provides Groundbreaking Legal Opinion on Digital Fingerprinting to Corporate Members
Digital fingerprinting received widespread attention in the marketing research industry throughout 2008, especially in the online panel research space where this technology application is being deployed. Until recently, however, relatively little attention has been given to associated privacy issues. Earlier this year, MRIA’s National Board of Directors unanimously agreed to retain Brian Bowman of Pitblado LLP to prepare a legal opinion on digital fingerprinting. His cogent analysis concludes that digital fingerprinting will increase exposure to liability for companies that use the technology. For complete information, click here.
2010 Burns "Bud" Roper Fellow Awards
The Burns "Bud" Roper AAPOR Fellow Award is intended to help people working in survey research or public opinion research and who are in early stages of their careers to attend the annual AAPOR conference and participate in short courses. The Bud Roper Fund will award up to $700 for conference-related expenses to individuals who wish to attend and up to $300 to those who wish to participate in short courses offered at the conference. Individuals may apply for conference attendance, short course participation, or both. Deadline for submissions is 5:00pm (PST) on Friday February 19, 2010.
