Research Registration Fees – Non-Corporate Research Agencies:

Research Agencies who are not corporate members of MRIA are also invited to register their marketing research projects in the MRIA’s Research Registration System.

However, they do not benefit from the preferred rate offered to Corporate Research Agencies pre-paying their research registration fees at the time of their corporate membership renewal.

Non-corporate Research Agencies pay the following Research Registration fees based on the number of completed interviews they register in the MRIA’s Research Registration System: $0.25 per completed interview.

MRIA will invoice quarterly non-corporate Research Agencies for the Research Registration fees payable, based on the total number of completed interviews for their marketing research projects submitted in the MRIA’s Research Registration System during a period of three months.

Before registering their marketing research projects for the first time, non-corporate Research Agencies must contact MRIA so a RRS Code is issued for their organization.

For more information, please contact MRIA at RRS@mria-arim.ca.

Preferred Research Registration Fees – Corporate Research Agencies:

Corporate Research Agencies (Basic or Gold Seal) have to pay annual Preferred Research Registration Fees at the time they renew their Corporate membership if they meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • If their company collects its own research data from respondents or recruits respondents using any method (phone, online, mail, in-person, focus group, intercept), whether on a regular or an ad hoc basis. Any data collection and recruitment sub-contracted to an external supplier is excluded;
  • If their company has in-house Internet/online research capabilities.

  • For more information on MRIA's Research Registration System, click here.
  • All Corporate Members of MRIA have an obligation to ensure that all their research projects involving the participation of respondents (both quantitative and qualitative projects) are registered with MRIA's Research Registration System.
  • All research projects must be registered, regardless of data collection methods or target audiences -- and including all recruitment for qualitative research projects.
  • There is an expectation that, increasingly, clients will require the registration of their research studies and that the fee for registering them will need to be identified as a separate item on invoices.
  • As a guideline, when more than one Research Agency is involved with data collection / recruitment for a given research project, the organization with the most direct responsibility for the entire data collection / recruitment is responsible for registration and payment of fees.
  • The Preferred Research Registration Fees listed below already include the discount to which Corporate Research Agency Members are entitled.

Total number of interviews completed / respondents recruited annually directly by your company using any methodology (phone, online, mail, in-person, focus groups, intercept), excluding those completed by a sub-contractor.
